I’ve finished up in my old job at ********. Yay! it felt good to lock up the filthy, heavy shutters for the last time and walk away from the place. I will miss the people I worked with but not the company I worked for. I’ve done enough grumbling about the place so I’ve decided to stop there. It’s not good to nurse resentment. Before I left the manager gave me a little leaving present and a card from her and all the saff. I wasn’t expecting anything so that was quite nice.
My last day wasn’t so bad at all: I had a late start so for a lot of the time I was there the store was very quiet. Also, when I came in there was a huge shipment to book on. this kept me happy for a couple of hours. I like busy work like filing and booking on deliveries, even vacuuming. I had grown to really dislike till-work over the past few months so any job where I could just work away quietly in the background was most welcome.
I’m hoping to start up my new job on Saturday if all goes according to plan (I have to wait for the place to open) and Friday will be spent training. I just pray that I can be a benefit to my new employer, I have no experience in this field but it is fairly menial stuff. I have no idea whether I’ll like this job or not but I’ll give it my best shot and work hard. One great thing about the new job is that it’s only about a mile from my home so I’m looking forward to being able to walk or cycle to work.
Please pray with me that I’ll do well in my new job.
