About those MAP Meetings

April 8th, 2008 · No Comments

It occurred to me recently that I haven’t posted about my MAP Meetings with Peter in a while. Sorry. I forgot. The meetings are still going well but writing about them is basically just re-writing the notes that are already going into my MAP Journal so it’s not very productive. So unless anything unusual [...]

Outreach Update

April 3rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

A while ago I posted about an outreach project I was working on for my church. On Monday I went into Cahir after work and walked around going into shops, butchers, the post office, the enterprise centre, the coffee shop. I walked all over, and posted up flyers advertising the free copy of John’s Gospel [...]

New Banner

March 17th, 2008 · No Comments

Peter and I put up a new banner on the front of the church today. The banner arrived, after some trouble with the couriers, on Wednesday. It arrived just in time since it’s an Easter banner and when Peter pulled up to the church on Sunday he discovered the old banner lying on the ground.  [...]

Outreach

March 14th, 2008 · 4 Comments

This is something I’ve been working on for a while now. I’ve been very excited about this little project of mine. I should have posted earlier and, as is typical when I let things brew for a while without blogging them, this post will probably be way too short to convey my excitement.
I’ve mentioned this [...]

Firsts

March 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

I preached my sermon on Romans 3:19-26 today. I think it went well and, as usual when I preach, I’m thankful to God that I didn’t swear or anything. It’s always a worry. My parents came along today, making this the first time they’ve ever set foot in my church. My sister and her kids [...]

Coming up with a title is always the hardest part…

February 18th, 2008 · 1 Comment

God has really been direct about reminding me of his presence lately. Prayers I’ve prayed have been answered… a lot. One request in particular I had just finished praying when it was answered. My hands were still joined in prayer. While I always know God is real and he is with me there are [...]

Bible Study – Daniel 9:1-19 – Daniel’s Prayer

January 28th, 2008 · No Comments

On Monday last week (the 21st) I lead my first Bible study at Cahir Presbyterian Church. I had only lead one Bible study previously, while I was doing missionary work over the summer and for that one I read notes I had emailed to myself off my phone. For this latest Bible study I made [...]

Catching Up Again – Meeting 7

January 27th, 2008 · No Comments

Things are still just calming down here but I’ve managed to get my assignments done so now I have time to catch up on my MAP Journal. Peter and I had a MAP Meeting with Peter on Tuesday the 8th but I still haven’t journaled it from the notes yet so here goes:
Spiritual and Personal [...]

Meeting 6

December 15th, 2007 · No Comments

On Tuesday I had my sixth MAP meeting with Peter. This was the last meeting we’ll have this year. Here’s how things are going:
Personal and Spiritual Development
My schedule kind of went out the window on Monday night. I installed Ubuntu Linux on my laptop and I was tinkering with that until about 4 in the [...]

Meeting 5 – Finally!

November 29th, 2007 · No Comments

Thanks to my fondness for my own bed this meeting has been a long time coming so Peter and I had a lot to catch up on. So here’s what we discussed:
Spiritual and Personal Development
Since our last meeting I’ve cleared away my old computer, which was just sitting in my room taking up space. I [...]
